The Home Safety Consult

An in-home whole home consultation

We'll help you choose the equipment that would best solve the problems posed by aging and chronic conditions with a focus on modifying existing safety hazards in every room of the home and economically retrofitting your home to promote safety and independence.

• A detailed written synopsis of our meeting
• Quote for us to make the modifications to the home
• Cost-effective resources for the items which will solve that problem if you choose not to use our services

The Home Modification Consult

An in-home whole home consultation

We'll help you choose the equipment that would best solve the problems posed by aging and chronic conditions with a focus on modifying existing safety hazards in every room of the home and economically retrofitting your home to promote safety and independence. During this consultation, measurements will be taken and conceptual drawings will be rendered.

Includes
• Installation of toilet grab bar and safety rails
• A detailed written synopsis of our meeting
• Quote for us to make the modifications to the home
• Cost-effective resources for the items which will solve that problem if you choose not to use our services

If you already know what modifications that you would like made to your home, please contact us for a quote.

We do everything from bathroom grab bars to showerhead upgrades to renovations.

Minor adaptations that can be made in the home include, but are not limited to:

At Independent Living Services - Vancouver Island, we are dedicated to helping seniors age comfortably in their own homes. As certified Senior Home Safety Specialists by Age Safe Canada, we specialize in making homes safer and more accessible, ensuring that your loved ones can live independently for as long as possible.

Some of our services include installing grab bars to prevent slips and falls, widening doorways for wheelchair access, and renovating spaces to accommodate walkers and other mobility aids. Each project is tailored to the unique needs of the individual, combining safety with the warmth and character of the home.

We are more than just a renovation service—we are your partner in creating a secure, comfortable environment where seniors can continue to thrive.

    Our Humble Beginnings

    Offering help to friends and family with making changes to their homes to reduce slip and falls and to provide greater independence 

  • 2020

    Independent Living Services is established

    Word of mouth has spread with covid and the demand increases. Additional staff is hired, relationships with trades established and expertise gained.

  • Late 2021

    Transition to Full Time

    The business we love is giving people back their independence and the demand the service is continuing to grow. 

    We are now at full capacity with local clients. 

  • Summer 2024

    Online Expansion

    We grew organically without advertising
    or having a website, now we take the business online. Additional staff hired to meet the demand of the ever expanding client list.
